The Sound Doctor partners with Essex County Council and Clinical Commissioning Groups to support patients to 'Live Well'

The Sound Doctor, the social enterprise focused on effective patient education, has teamed up with the Essex County Council and Essex Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs)* to launch a new initiative - the Live Well campaign.

The patient education videos are being offered as part of a Live Well campaign to engage families and individuals - promoting health and wellbeing in the county of Essex by providing high quality information and solutions. By setting an agenda to underline the benefits of healthy living, Live Well intends to have a positive impact on both the lives of people within the county and also reduce the strain on the National Health Service (NHS).

The Sound Doctor Launches New Diabetes Library

Leading medical online learning resource, The Sound Doctor, is to add over 60 new evidence-based films, augmenting their unmatched collection. The social enterprise concerned with effective patient education, has announced the launch of a new diabetes library.  This comes as NHS England launches their Diabetes Prevention Week campaign on 16 April 2018. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the Healthier You: NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (NDPP) with the public and healthcare professionals, specifically GPs and Practice Nurses. The campaign will also raise awareness of the causes of Type 2 diabetes and the complications associated with it. The Sound Doctor urges CCGs to reduce avoidable GP and hospital visits

The Sound Doctor is a social enterprise concerned with effective patient education and is now urging Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) to prioritise high-quality information to help patients manage their own health conditions. This comes after a study reported that 93% of patients who used The Sound Doctor reported fewer visits to their GP, while 62% said they were in the hospital less than before. At a time where cost efficiency is as pressing as ever in the health sector, such packages could become an important way of reducing unnecessary expenditure. The study also revealed that almost all patients understood their condition better and learned new and relevant information, while 96% of those surveyed feeling more confident about managing their condition.
